Jon, It seems that there is some divergence of opinion regarding what "research" means regarding these subjects. You can read a ton of stuff that is not based on direct observation, but on what one being told another being. While that is "research" from your point of view, it isn't research from an academic point of view.
Wes Penre's work is based on reading ancient texts along with the testimony of various "insiders." Insider testimony is better than nothing, but it is not quite a direct look.
Parks' work is based on "visions" he received.
And Moningsky's work is based on stories handed down to him from an ET that crash landed here.
Alien Interview, likewise, is based on stories supposedly told to a human by an ET.
Though many of these stories and accounts may be true, they do not involve direct observation. What Courtney (and a few others) are trying to do is build up a history and account of the past based on their direct observations. Hubbard used a similar system, basing his research on memories of people he worked on when they "read" on a meter.
Both Hubbard and Courtney came up with this "death trap" problem. Very few other sources (story tellers) mention this. It is, however, apparently a part of the Gnostic tradition. Hubbard worked with people who remembered living elsewhere, flying around in space ships, being captured, processed, and sent here. He worked with many people to help them remember what was done to them "between lives." This was not easy to do, as the information is deeply buried. He also became aware, in 1952, that people could "exteriorize," that is, separate from their bodies without any bodily harm. He worked with people to help them do this stably, and this ability is considered an important part of "spiritual freedom." It is possible that Pat Price had this ability. It is considered superior to "sending a remote viewpoint" and can potentially retrieve extremely exact data. The secret-keepers of the world, of course, are very afraid of people who can exteriorize, and have fought against spiritual awareness in general for this reason.
Hubbard was not keenly interested in compiling an exact history of this (the physical) universe. He may have missed some important points. But in History of Man (What to Audit) and more recent material, he presents a summary of what he found. This is research based on the memories of people who experienced these events themselves. It goes all the way back to before the universe as we know it even existed. Per his time measuring techniques, that was trillions of years ago.
Courtney and others are more interested in reconstructing an actual history of Earth, and beyond. I am, too. But we should be clear that this alone will not solve the problem of what we should do about being trapped on Earth.
At this point, it is unclear to me how "good" the "good ETs" really are. They have been told by our captors that the people of Earth are "dangerous." They can see from our violence and brutality that this seems true. Of course, violence and brutality still exists in great amounts beyond the boundaries of Earth. Courtney's work has made this clear. So how "advanced" are the off-world societies, really? I am not convinced that they know much more about the true history of this universe than Hubbard or Courtney Brown discovered.
I personally wish that more people would read Hubbard. I seem to be the only one here who has, which makes having conversations about his work impossible. But these two researchers, at least, found ways to directly observe information that is completely unavailable to most of us. I rely on their work most heavily. Stories from ETs? Not so much.
