"I'm the correct one"
"No, I'm the correct one"
"You're an idiot, I'm the correct one"
If you guessed that this is the pattern for the average Farsight forum thread, you are correct. What you may not realize, because you are so used to thinking that YOU are the smartest one in the room, is that WE are all the smartest ones from the rooms from whence we came. Farsight attracts high IQ folks.
If you are a pattern recognizer like me, you will also realize that the "outcome" of the thread is ultimately determined by the viewers of the thread because they greatly outnumber the speakers in the thread, and viewers take knowledge from the thread for years after the fact. The viewers see thru your weak attempts (some) at conversational dominance and straight to the heart of the subject matter.
How do I recognize this pattern so easily? I was born into a family of well-paid doctors and engineers. Every conversation with family was some version of the lines quoted above and ended in stubborn entrenchment by all sides.
Action steps: 1. Farsight threads start well with a novel idea or message to express to the rest of us. Keep this up; it is beautiful! 2. Recognize the pattern above and do not let the thread devolve into an annoyance for everyone!
Addendum: My start in life was in US special operations and one of my mentors was a Green Beret who came up with a way to resolve all disputes amongst troops. Have the 2 disputing parties perform a contest of left-handed rock throwing in front of their peers. They will invariably look like and then feel like complete ass-clowns. Both sides always end up dropping the dispute after the shared ego shattering event. If anyone can think of the web version of this, let us know.
Nope... I don't recognise the pattern (not so much from here anyway; perhaps a few people might get into that pattern every now and then, but, most disputes of that nature are also usually more typically as a result of mis-understandings or differences in semantics, around here, anyway, rather than too much in the direction of willful-ignorance, although there are certainly sometimes elements of peoples' posts that reflect that they are uninformed about the fact that a lot of their questions, comments, concerns, objections, have already been covered in past Far-Sight Projects or Briefings).
And those of us who came to Far-Sight because we actively searched it out, rather than it having been «advertised» and brought to our attention, has more to do with us having Higher-Resonance-Frequencies (which made us recognise the patterns that caused us to question things to the point where we ended up at Far-Sight), rather than necessarily being High-IQ (granted, all IQ-Tests I have ever taken, have always resulted in scores that are definitely above the average, but, there are definitely other posters around here with higher IQ-Levels than I have, but, does not necessarily mean that I will automatically trust nor believe that they will always have better information than I do on some particular topic or category of information; and it also needs to be mentioned that getting an IQ of 216 or higher before the end of the year can also be done by simply taking hundreds of IQ-Tests before the end of the year; the reason for this is because they all tend to have similar questions or cognitive-challenges, and, once you have seen the same patterns over dozens of tests and already know the answers, you can just zip right through the IQ-Tests; how-ever, most IQ-Tests also tend to be tests that are designed for Children, such that, you can finish them before the end of the day, usually within 3 hours, where-as a Truly Good IQ-Test, for true-and-genuine adults, will be full of traps where the answer isn't so obvious, due to things like propaganda, astro-turfing, artificial-amplification, highly sophisticated information-control, multi-layered front-groups/organisations/corporations, highly sophisticated artificial-intelligence «posters» who are not actual people in order to promote the ad-populum fallacy, etc., etc., and, such tests usually require a minimum of six months to complete in order to determine one's True I-Q; JFK, 9/11, etc., are just some examples of what would exist in a real adult-IQ-test).
And here is another one that is another good thing to add to the IQ-Test...
...that test being to determine where & why & what the logical-fallacies are.
Nor am I any stranger to having had to have dealt with «Mr. I have five college-degrees so I am obviously smarter than you and better than you» kinds of attitudes all my life, how-ever, contrary to peoples' attempts at using their «qualifications» to try to «convince» me that I am supposed to «believe» them, I counter-responded to them with my literal «IQ-Score» where, one time, versus a group of Psychiatrists, I basically «counter-diagnosed» them with a bunch of their own «mental-illnesses» and, similarly to how they had «signed» their «psychological-evaluation» documentation in order to try to get me to agree with them that they were right about me having some sort of mental-illness(es), I submitted a «counter-psychological-evaluation» paper and «signed» my own paper with a «signature» that followed with the wording «Whose IQ far-surpasses that of your typical doctor» as a means as to why my information was more accurate and valid than those doctors' opinions, with plenty of really damn good examples to point out the flaws in their logical-reasoning, even backing up my claims and statistics versus their claims with actual scientific-publications.
«Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a really good example.»

There are often multiple paths to the same destination. People on different paths can simultaneously be correct that they are on the "right" path, even though those paths look very different from one another.
