It's a small question to post a thread about but I want to be super clear on this if I'm making such a big investment.
If the GH6 is mirrorless: why am I sending it to Life Pixel? Isn't Life Pixel only being used to remove the hot mirror only if there is one?
Or, I can word it differently: Did you in fact send your GH6s to Life Pixel? Or was that your DSLR cameras only that you sent? If you sent the GH6, and there is no hot mirror, what was Life Pixel hired to do with your GH6?
I think I answered my own question but I'd still like if anyone could confirm this is the correction . . .
A "mirrorless" camera is *not* devoid of the *hot mirror*. It still has a lens (hot mirror) in front of the sensor. "mirrorless" is just talking about not using a mirror for the photographer to preview the shot. Instead it's a digital display.
Which is annoying as hell because the language is suspiciously deliberate enough to screw us up.
The filter that is removed is over the sensor. It has nothing to do with the mirror. And you are correct, the GH6 does not have a mirror. All cameras have filters on top of the sensor, however. That needs to be removed to get full spectrum.

I received my Lumix GH6, camera with full spectrum modification complete. I have an external 590nm filter.
My Lens is: 12-35mm F2.8 Leica DG Vario-ELMARIT Interchangeable Lens for Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Cameras, Power O.I.S. - H-ES12035. I don't know if this is good enough or not?
I'm worried that I don't have the camera setup properly. Do you have any information on the proper settings for the camera? Mode as a starter (I'm using M with video camera image next to it)? There are tons of options within the menu that I really don't know how to deal with. I've watched your camera setup video and started watching you editing video series.
I'm really looking for details setup instructions for the camera itself.
Also wondering about the "Power IOS" on the lens, should the switch be on or off ?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

For the record quality setting, we use:
MOV, Full 4096x2160(17:9),119.88p
420/10bit/LongGOP,LPCM
300Mbps
That is a single setting under Rec Quality.
Under Rec. File Format, we use MOV
For the dial at the top of the camera, we set it to M (with the picture of the movie camera next to it).
To help focus, we turn Focus Peaking On. We always do manual focus.
For Exposure Mode, we use M.
Photo Style: Std
We record on a 512GB CFexpress card.

We normally turn the IOS off on the lens. That is useful for handheld video recordings, which we almost never do. We always use a tripod.

Ok now is this pretty much the whole setup from life pixel I believe. Could you confirm if that all fits? If it's not too much trouble. I think life pixel got tired of me harassing them with questions*snicker*
My main concern was that does the 37mm filter fit the 35mm lens.
No Tazz. The filter size is not the same as the lens focal length. Normally, we at Farsight use a Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-35mm f/2.8, which is a zoom lens. The filter size for that lens is 58 mm.

Always put a good camera on a good tripod. Also, you will need a filter that returns the camera to its natural state so that you can take normal photos and videos with it. You will need this one:

I confess that I cannot buy right away. I will have a very good birthday set up for my daughter in August, and when my wife is impressed with all my birthday planning and sees I spent roughly $4k on a camera, knowing I was never into photography, and I say-
"Don't worry honey. It's because we've learned from a starseed and his crew of psychic spies that this will save the world and transform the galaxy" . . . she will accept that maybe I earned it anyhow
Oh wait it looks like more silly questions from me. What's an example of a good tripod for gh6? I think it was mentioned in one of the videos, so I'll review unless and until one gets posted here
