CB,
I have recently in the past few months been restricting my food intake I went from eating whenever I want all day to, twice a day Noon and 6pm. I was doing that time restricted eating schedule for awhile and felt comfortable and slipped into once a day a few times. Just didn't have time or forgot to eat lunch.
Now I feel like I can maybe move into one meal a day and that just be dinner time. I think that's sustainable, my wife cooks a home cooked meal, and I avoid all the quick, and fast options for breakfast and lunch. I am overweight but I am carrying it all in my stomach if you looked at me you wouldn't think I am fat and I have been skinny all my life until maybe the past decade or two.
I cannot say I am doing it to lose weight because personally I am not. I am doing it more for general health. I got to the point that the weight got to me. I generally was not feeling good overall. But I believe the weight loss is is going to happen as a side affect (its been slow to come off for several reasons like starvation mode). Again not my aim but I am ok with losing weight. I am 296 lbs. and should be like 220, I have a lot of muscle and have always weight lifted, I am also 6 foot.
Now onto my question for you. You mention that you super supplement with vitamins. I have my entire life since I was a child ALWAYS taken vitamins. I am a big advocate for taking vitamins and have always encouraged my wife, children, and friends to take them. So this is not new for me but I thought about this the other day. With all that is being said above taking my situation into account and with your knowledge on the subject. What would you recommend (I know its not medical advice) for me to take?
I know you may be hesitant but I am a full grown man of sound body and mind and I am already taking many. I am thinking if anything you could better steer me towards where I should be. I have noticed that with the reduction in eating I really can tell I am not getting my daily values of nutrients. So it is important I at least cover those bases if anything.
I understand what you take may not be for me and at my age (in my 30's) maybe I can take different ones at different levels. So it's not like you would be suggesting your (secret sauce) for others to follow. Just with all the years you have done this and how well you look. I am not sure there is anther person on the planet that understands the answer to this question better then you.
What I am taking now: (all once a day after my dinner meal)
400mg - EGCg
5000-10,000 IU - D3 as chlecalciferol
1000mg - Cinnamon
2600mg - Omega 3 (750mg EPA, 750 DHA, 150mg DPA)
500mg - Resveratrol
500mg - Berberine
400mg - Magnesium
I am really targeting my insulin production here because I do not want to go diabetic with my stomach fat. This along with my restricted eating should help. But eventually this is not sustainable either I mean what is sustainable only you know the answer to that question. I mean look at you!
Yea I am going to, I lifted very heavy up until just a year or two ago. And so I didn't fall far from off the wagon, but you are right I need to get lifting again. It's coming I just want to settle down my new diet, get comfortable with the food intake, then I will get throwing those weights again!
